Professional Improvement Committe

Under the terms of the teacheres' contract, all courses which are to be used for credit to advance to a new salary, i.e. B, B+15, M to M+30 etc. , must be approved by the Professional Improvement Committee (P.I.C.). Guidelines with specific information are found on this website and all necessary forms for making application to this committee are available here and in the Principal Office of each school.

It is incumbent upon every teacher to read the Professional Improvement Committee Guidelines and to adhere to the specified dates for the submission of all forms, requests and substantiating documents.

1. Where do I find the PIC forms? - Here on this web site and in the district wide handbook

2. What do I include on the forms for each Course? Make sure the course description includes the college #(Id) associated with that specific course.

3. How many credits can be given through the following NCTA, Travel, Curriculum work, etc.? 15 credits

4. Do I need to get an offical transcript? Make sure its an ORIGINAL and submit 2 copies.
